Accounting Information System (AIS) is designed to present an understanding and their role in the accounting environment. Particular attention is paid to transaction cycles and internal control structure including the software development life cycle, contemporary technology and applications, control concepts and procedures, auditing of information systems, Internets, intranets, electronic commerce, and the role of information systems of business processes, system mapping and documentation, transaction cycles, business environment and the control of risk. The course also endeavors to develop skills that will enable graduates to critically analyze and evaluate the existing AIS and propose control procedures that are appropriate and sensible both computerized and non-computerized with particular emphasis on internal controls.
